Our Story
From a young age Ryan always enjoyed working with his hands. His father taught him the fundamentals of woodworking and they spent hours together in his workshop creating projects.
Some of his fondest memories of his dad are built into the projects they made together. He instilled the value of craftsmanship in Ryan and his oft repeated saying “no matter what you do – whether you’re sweeping floors or building a house – make it the best!” still rings true for Ryan today.
Having grown up and attended High School in Napanee, Ryan went on to graduate from the Business Administration program at Loyalist College in Belleville.
From there he managed businesses for Tim Horton’s for over a decade, but something else kept calling. Each day Ryan would race home from work to start a new project or find something he could build with his hands.
Then it hit him. It wasn’t enough to spend days off and evenings working late into the night on carpentry projects – he needed to build all day every day!
Sometimes luck steps in to help us find the right path in life and something lucky sure happened to Ryan when a carpenter friend invited him to work at one of Ontario’s leading landscape companies. All of a sudden Ryan went from part time carpentry to full time and feels like he hasn’t “worked” a day since!
Ryan has been fortunate in life; he has has a beautiful wife and three amazing children and each day he spends pursuing his passion for carpentry isn’t work, it’s love!
The desire to build, to craft beautiful things with wood has been a lifelong passion for Ryan. Creating a local business not only presented him with the chance to build things for neighbours, friends and new clients, it has also to given him the chance to support his community as as local business operator, job creator and volunteer.

I am proud to bring together my three greatest passions and sources of pride – family, fine craftsmanship and carpentry, and the community where I’ve grown up, gone to school and put down roots – in the creation of Stirling Carpentry.
Each day I wake up and do my very best to build things that will wow my clients and carry my business with the kind of honesty, integrity and ethics I learned working in the wood shed alongside my father all those years ago."
